After loading the car to the roof with supplies, it was finally time to set out on our longest leg of the journey: Edmonton, Alberta to Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Unfortunately, although Fort Smith lies directly north of Edmonton as the crow flies, as the road goes is not so direct and this trip takes 13 to 15 hours!
Stocked up in edmonton and just barely managed to stuff everything into the car!#crosscanada twitter.com/anorthernnomad…

Big downside of a full car is that there is no where for our dog to sit but on our laps!#crosscanada twitter.com/anorthernnomad…

Almost 5000 km later. We managed to hit 300,000 km on the odometer and managed not to hit any of the animals crossing the road. All in all, another successful drive across Canada. This is an amazing country, but we never really appreciate how big it truly is until we’re in the car trying to drive across it!

I have seen bison, too. Yahoo! I love the falls. Sure a lot of bugs.
